Food & Produce FAQ
Our U-Pick Orchard features a wide variety of apples that ripen from late summer through mid October. Varieties include:
Zestar, Sweet Maia, Gala, Honeycrisp, Summerset, Cortland, McIntosh, Jonathan, Fuji (September Wonder), Snow Sweet, Pink Lady (Barnsby), JonaGold, Ludacrisp, Sweet Zinger, Rosalee, and EverCrisp.
Availability changes throughout the season as different varieties come into harvest. In addition to what we grow on site, we also bring in fresh Michigan apples throughout the season to supplement our supply.
If you’d like to learn more about flavor, texture, and best uses for each variety, visit our Orchard page for tasting notes and recommendations.
During the summer season, our mobile farm markets are stocked daily with fresh picked Selmi’s sweet corn harvested each morning. Any remaining corn from the previous day is kept in our cooler for freshness and sold the next day.
You’ll also typically find seasonal favorites like zucchini, green bell peppers, hot peppers, cucumbers, blueberries, green beans, peaches, tomatoes, watermelon, and cantaloupe.
Availability can vary, especially early in the season, so please contact us through our online contact form or give us a call at 815-626-3830 if you’d like to confirm what’s in stock before you visit.
We start making Apple Cider Donuts daily on Fall opening day and keep fresh packaged donuts stocked in the barn every day through Halloween.
Hot Apple Cider Donuts are available during Fall Activity Hours:
-
Tuesday through Friday: 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.
-
Saturday and Sunday: 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
On Fall weekends, you can also enjoy burgers, brats, and hot dogs, plus occasional food trucks during special events. From the donut trailer, we serve Apple Cider Slushies, Apple Cider by the cup, and other drinks. When the weather cools, we add hot drinks to keep you warm while you explore the farm.

This is one of our most asked questions, and unfortunately we’re not able to ship or deliver our sweet corn at this time.
If you live out of the area, one option is to have a local friend or family member purchase sweet corn in person and handle shipping it to you on their own. Some customers choose to pack it with ice packs in an insulated box and use an expedited service like UPS 2nd Day to help maintain freshness, but this is not a service Selmi’s provides or manages.
No. Our bi-colored sweet corn is not organically grown. We do use pesticides early in the season to help prevent moths from laying eggs on the corn. These applications are timed so that any freshly picked corn does not contain residue.
We always encourage customers to rinse all produce before eating, including our corn, tomatoes, apples, and any other fruits or vegetables, just as you would with produce from any farm or store.
Selmi's Loyalty Rewards FAQ
There are two easy ways to join our free loyalty program:
-
Online: Use the enrollment link here to sign up.
-
In store: Let a cashier know you’d like to join and they’ll enroll you with your phone number and email at checkout.
When you sign up, you’ll automatically earn 10 points to start your account.
-
After you enroll or make a purchase while enrolled, you’ll receive a text message (SMS) showing how many points you earned during that visit. That message also includes a link where you can download the Cash App to track your points.
If you don’t see the download link, you can search for Cash App (bright green background with an italicized dollar sign), in the Apple App Store or Google Play Store and download it directly. When you create or sign in to your Cash App account, be sure to use the same phone number or email you used when signing up for Selmi’s Loyalty.
Once signed in:
-
Open Cash App
